NEWS BRIEFS: Coalition meeting set for Joyce … and other items

JOYCE — The public is invited to attend Crescent United Community Coalition’s monthly meeting today at 5:30 p.m.

Held in the Crescent School library, located at 50350 state Highway 112, the meeting will focus on issues pertaining to drug and alcohol information for youths in the community.

The meeting will also plan events that give evidence-based information about marijuana and other drugs.

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting today at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

The agenda includes a presentation on a draft technology plan and a financial report for January.

Jet Set meeting

PORT ANGELES — Soroptimist International Port Angeles Jet Set will hold its regular meeting today at 7 a.m.

Held at the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St., the meeting will cover local community issues regarding girls and women.

PA salon opens new location

PORT ANGELES — Curls Salon, 1607 E. Front St., has opened a new location behind Baskin-Robbins in Port Angeles.

In addition to the new location, Curls also has hired Miki Gonzales, Sara Duckett, Buffie Earley-Carpentier and Alyona Guttormsen.
