PORT ANGELES — To celebrate the birthday of Charles Darwin, the Port Angeles Freethinkers will be showing “Creation” in the Carver Room at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The film screening is free and open to the public.
A film synopsis from a news release reads: “English naturalist Charles Darwin struggles to find a balance between his revolutionary theories on evolution and the relationship with his religious wife, whose faith contradicts his work.”
The Port Angeles Freethinkers offer a community for those seeking like-minded friendship, educational opportunities and service projects founded in science and reason.

Sequim Soroptimists taking requests for funds
SEQUIM — Soroptimist International of Sequim is looking for potential recipients of funds.
Each year, the group chooses to support projects that align with its mission of improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
Organizations that conduct activities in Clallam County that align with the Soroptimist mission statement and that can be considered a potential recipient of 2015-16 committee funds can visit www.sisequim.org and click on the “What We Do” tab and “Committed Funds” for application information.
An application must be returned no later than March 1.
