PORT ANGELES — Weather permitting, drivers will encounter a single-lane closure and alternating traffic conditions across the U.S. Highway 101 Elwha River bridge west of Port Angeles from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.
The lane closure will allow state Department of Transportation bridge preservation crews to conduct a bridge inspection. Crews have been inspecting the bridge on a regular basis since discovering erosion around the bridge piers last year.
In the event of severe weather conditions, the inspection could be rescheduled.
For more information, see the Elwha River bridge website at www.wsdot.wa.gov.
