PORT ANGELES — Donations for the Clallam County Historical Society garage sale are being accepted at Lincoln School, corner of Eighth and C streets, on the west side of the building until Aug. 21 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The sale days will be Friday, Aug. 29, and Saturday, Aug. 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Any items left over will be offered for sale at half-price Friday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, all remaining items will be sold at a dollar a bag from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A call for artists
SEQUIM — Sequim Arts is looking for artists who will create and donate 5-inch-by-7-inch pieces for its upcoming show.
The third annual show will consist of only unframed artwork created and donated by local artists and celebrities.
Each artwork is signed only on the back and will be exhibited anonymously.
To donate a piece of artwork, drop it off at the Museum & Arts Center Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., before Aug. 30.
All entries are for sale to the public for $20 each.
Artwork will be on display starting Wednesday, Sept. 3, but will not be for sale until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5.
Artist names will be revealed to the buyer upon purchase, and artwork will remain on display through Sept. 27.
Half of the profits from the show will be donated to the MAC.
The money raised also will be used to provide supplies for area school arts programs and scholarships, support the Clallam County Fair Art Barn and more.

Singer guest speaker at PA church
PORT ANGELES — Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St., will hold a 10:30 a.m. service Sunday with guest speaker Niobe Weaver.
The lesson will be “Grace and Love: Shine It All Around.”
Weaver is a singer focused on vibrational health and wellness.
Free child care is available during the service.
A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Blessing circle
AGNEW — The monthly blessing circle will be held at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 73 Howe Road, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Everyone is invited to attend and receive divine blessings from certified blessing givers.
This is a nondenominational event; people of all religious and spiritual backgrounds are encouraged to participate.
There are no teachings or dogma discussed.
Snacks will be shared afterward.
There are no fees to attend; however, voluntary donations for the cost of space rental are accepted.

New bishopric
PORT ANGELES — A new bishopric has been called to serve in the Port Angeles 2nd Ward of the Port Angeles Washington Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ralph Pavon is an MRI technologist at Olympic Medical Center. He and his wife, Rachael, have two children.
Pavon’s first counselor is Douglas Beattie. He is the director of therapy at Forks Community Hospital and has five children with his wife, Sharon.
Pavon’s second counselor is Chris Shaw, who is the lead physical therapist at Olympic Medical Center. He has three children with his wife, Jill.
The new bishopric in the Port Angeles 2nd Ward serves as a lay leadership to the members of the congregation.
15 complete sewing program
PORT ANGELES — Fifteen children ages 8 to 13 received their certificates of completion for the 4-H Clothing and Textile Beginning Sewing Program at Viking Sew and Vac.
The youths spent four days learning how to identify the parts of their sewing machines and how to sew simple projects.
Each child completed a nine-patch pillow, a bag to carry their sewing supplies and at least one other project of his or her choice.
This beginning sewing camp is a joint project between the Clallam County 4-H and WSU Clothing and Textile Advisors, or CTA.
The camp is organized and staffed by a group of volunteers who have either completed the CTA training or provided their sewing expertise as a 4-H Clallam County volunteer.

To qualify for the president’s list, a student must be enrolled for at least 12 quarter hours of credit in courses numbered 100 or above, receive no incompletes and earn a college grade-point average for the quarter of no less than 3.90.
Honor roll requirements are the same, except for a GPA of no less than 3.60.
