PORT ANGELES — Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy is hosting a free program to provide education on fishing, fitness and wellness to women.
Informational sessions will be held at 1108 E. First St. from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday, April 9.
There also will be a field trip to a local lake from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13.
The program is aimed at providing women in the community with the opportunity to learn a new hobby, gain knowledge about upper-body fitness, go fishing and meet new friends.
Instructors will include Ron Link and Joe Sandoval, guides from Waters West Fly Fishing Outfitters.
All equipment is provided, and carpooling is available.

Armed forces event
BREMERTON — U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer will host a service academy information event Saturday.
The event, intended to inform high school students and their families on the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas, will be at the Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 Sixth St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I’m looking forward to extending this exciting opportunity to students in our region who are considering a top-tier education with service to our nation in our armed forces,” Kilmer said.
Any student attending high school, public or private, on the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas and who lives within the 6th Congressional District boundaries is welcome. Families are encouraged to join.

AZUSA, Calif. — Sarah Browning of Port Townsend and Kathryn Moseley of Port Angeles recently made the academic dean’s list at Azusa Pacific University.
These students are honored for a fall 2013 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,774 students receiving the same honor.
