PORT ANGELES — Intermittent lane closures are planned on U.S. Highway 101 between Oak Street and Tumwater Truck Route today and Thursday.
The closures will be from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m. while crews trim trees and clear vegetation, the city of Port Angeles said in an email.
Road closure
QUINAULT — Olympic National Forest will close a section of Forest Road 22 temporarily today.
The road, also known as Donkey Creek Road, will be closed to allow a maintenance contractor crew to remove a hazardous tree near the roadway about 10 miles west of Wynoochee Dam, the Pacific Ranger District Office said in an email.
Users should consider alternate routes on that day and/or expect up to four hours of delays.

Drink and Draw
PORT ANGELES — Drink and Draw, a free event for all ages, is planned at 7:30 p.m. today.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. at the Loom in Studio Bob, upstairs at 118½ E. Front St.
A model will pose for three 20-minute sessions. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
Drawing supplies are available or bring your own.
Drink and draw meets monthly on the Thursday just before Port Angeles Art Walk on the second weekend of the month.
Boat safety class
PORT ANGELES — The Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer a class on boating safety this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A certificate will be available at 4 p.m. after the class has ended.
Locations, costs and details about the course will be provided over the phone by Marilynn Leonard after a vetting process.
Those interested are advised to register for the course on or before Thursday.

Food drive
PORT ANGELES — Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy will hold a food drive and fundraiser for the Port Angeles Food Bank throughout this month.
Donations of food and cash can be dropped off at Strait Occupational, 107 S. Race St., Suite C, during business hours Mondays through Thursdays from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except from noon to 1:15 p.m. when staff take their lunch.

Centennial celebration
PORT TOWNSEND — The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County will have a guest speaker from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Rotary International Speaker Chris Offer will speak about the Rotary Foundation’s centennial at Fort Worden State Park, located at 200 Battery Way.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
A state-issued Discover Pass is not required for this event.
