NEAH BAY — The Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council will meet from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Makah Marina Conference Center, 1321 Bayview Ave.
In the morning there will be updates on the Olympic Coast as a sentinel site for ocean acidification, events from Get In Your Sanctuary Day and council recruitment, according to a press release.
There will also be sessions on the Washington Marine Debris Action Plan and on Tatoosh Island Lighthouse restoration opportunities.
The afternoon sessions will include a review of Makah research initiatives, Amendment 28 to the Pacific Ground Fish Plan and boundary expansion relationships at the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary.
The meeting is open to the public and will include a public comment periods at 12:05 p.m. and at 3 p.m.

Wellness committee
PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend School District Wellness Committee will meet from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. today in the library at Blue Heron Middle School, 3939 San Juan Ave.
The meeting will review the strategic plan for the 2018-19 school year and start to develop next year’s plan.

Story swap
PORT ANGELES — Storyteller Barbara Frankhauser will talk about trolls at the September story swap at 7 tonight in the Carver Room, Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
The public is welcome at the free story swaps, held the third Tuesday of each month.
Frankhauser is the president of the Portland Storytellers’ Guild.
The story swaps are hosted by the nonprofit Story People of Clallam County which also sponsors the Forest Storytelling Festival, Oct. 19-21; Story Slams at Olympic Theatre Arts and the annual Liars’ Contest each June.

PORT ANGELES — Trish Tisdale recently received awards in the 2018 American Health & Wellness Design
Awards competition, sponsored by Graphic Design USA.
Tisdale is a graphic designer for Olympic Printers.
Her winning entries included two brochures designed for North Olympic Healthcare Network and a rack card designed for The Fifth Avenue.
The Health & Wellness Design Awards competition honors the best of graphic design for medical and health care industries, healthy lifestyles and nutrition as well as public health and sustainability initiatives.
Only 10 percent of the 1,500 entries received recognition, according to a press release
