PORT HADLOCK — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a wanted sex offender from Clallam County who failed to register his whereabouts, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King said 25-year-old Dylan Scott Valin was arrested Monday in Port Hadlock.
He remained in the Jefferson County jail Wednesday, King said.
Valin was convicted of third-degree child molestation and third-degree rape of a child Oct. 6, 2011, according to court records.
Law enforcement had issued a statement last Friday urging the public to be on the lookout for Valin.
Fundraiser for PA arts set Saturday
PORT ANGELES — Studio Bob will host a Port Angeles Arts Council fundraiser/pasta dinner Saturday.
Admission will be $15 to the dinner, which will begin at 5 p.m. at Studio Bob, upstairs at 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.
The evening will offer a pasta dinner with meat or veggie sauce, bread, salad, drink and dessert.
Music by Ches and Gordon will begin at about 6 p.m.
A silent auction will feature local art, donations and gift certificates from local merchants. Also to be auctioned will be dinner for four with local artists in their studios.
Bidding for silent auction items will end at 8:30 p.m.
A no-host bar is planned in The Loom next door.
Proceeds will support the Port Angeles Arts Council, which supports all the arts in the Port Angeles area.
Any artists wishing to display or sell their work at the fundraiser can drop the art off at Studio Bob during Drink and Draw between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. tonight or between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.
Artists will be asked to suggest a starting bid for their work.
