SEQUIM — A freeway, the clip-clop of hooves, a Taj Mahal: Back off.
So went the outcry Monday night from a quartet of Spruce Street property owners.
They rose up at the City Council meeting, protesting plans to bring one of the North Olympic Peninsula’s vaunted amenities close to their homes.
The Olympic Discovery Trail is “an eyesore,” said Don Hagadorn, referring to the path Clallam and Jefferson county planners want to eventually extend from Port Townsend to LaPush.
The route now has sections on Sequim’s east and west sides — with scenic stretches over Johnson Creek and the Dungeness River — but suffers from what many call “the missing link” between Blake and Sequim avenues.
