Garden talk slated Monday
PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Master Gardeners Ann Klosterman and Sarah Fairbank will present “Putting Your Garden to Bed” at the Washington State University Jefferson County Extension office, 380 Jefferson St., from noon to 1 p.m. Monday (Sept. 16).
The talk is part of the Master Gardeners’ Aphids to Zucchini lecture series.
Klosterman and Fairbank will give tips on cutting back and cleaning up.
Many pests and diseases overwinter in plant debris, so extra effort put in this fall will pay off next year.
Visitors can bring a brown-bag lunch and questions for the presenters.

Rotary bulb sale slated next weekend
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Rotary Club’s annual flower bulb sale will be held in the parking lot at First and Washington streets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Sept. 20-21).
The sale is being held a week later this year due to a late harvest of bulbs in Holland.
All preorders may be picked up at that time, and there will be a collection of additional bulbs for sale to the general public.
Proceeds are used to support community projects such as literacy, school supplies, Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics, homeless efforts and more.
