The North Olympic Peninsula’s population has risen to 92,000, according to estimates released Monday by the state Office of Financial Management.
That compares with a revised 2000 Census tally of 90,478 — a difference of about 1,500 people.
Most of the growth occurred in Clallam County, which has an April 1, 2003, population of 65,300, according to the state agency that estimates population for revenue-distribution purposes.
Clallam’s estimated population a year ago was 64,900.
Jefferson County’s April 1 population stands at 26,700, 100 more than a year ago.
