PORT TOWNSEND — The Northwest Maritime Center invites prospective volunteers to its spring kickoff from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Wednesday at the downtown campus, 431 Water St.

Libations and information about the numerous volunteer jobs open this season at and around the center are part of the event. The maritime center’s public engagement manager, Angela Hewitson, will be there, as will staffers from various departments.

The volunteer kickoff will also include announcements about the maritime center’s events and adventure races, including the Seventy48 starting June 10 and the Race to Alaska set to begin June 13.
