PORT ANGELES — Law enforcement officials are hoping to determine soon if a Port Angeles man who allegedly caused an accident last week that left three men dead will be prosecuted.
Clallam County Prosecutor Deborah Kelly said she contacted investigators with Washington State Patrol on Wednesday to ask if the investigation could be expedited.
She said she hopes that State Patrol will give her information on any alleged criminal actions taken by the man within the next few weeks.
“As of yet we have nothing,” Kelly said.
State Patrol Lt. Clint Casebolt said the investigation has been stalled by a backlog at the state toxicology lab.
Casebolt is assistant commander for District 8, based out of Bremerton.
“It’s not happening as quickly as I would like,” Casebolt said.
