Nurses quarters being remodeled at Point Hudson; popular restaurant eyed for site

PORT TOWNSEND — Remodeling of the Port of Port Townsend’s historic nurses quarters is expected to bring a popular Port Townsend restaurant’s fine cuisine to the mouth of Point Hudson Marina.

Hoch Construction of Port Angeles is remodeling the 3,000-square foot building near the Point Hudson waterfront and the marina’s entrance and the port’s RV visitor park.

Gary Tocatlian, who owns T’s Restaurant with his wife, Nancy, said Thursday that they are close to securing financing that would allow them to sign a lease with the port and finish the restaurant to their liking.

The Tocatlians plan to relocate from their present site at 2330 Washington St. to the new quarters.

T’s has been in operation since 1995.

The restaurateurs would finish remodeling after the port’s contractor completes base remodeling some time in November. As planned, the restaurant would open this coming spring.

The building’s interior has been torn out so far.

Port Executive Director Larry Crockett said a new sub-floor will be put in and interior work will begin in the next two weeks.
