Filing begins today for Clallam and Jefferson candidates seeking election in the fall.
Up for election in Clallam County are the District 2 county commissioner seat, nonpartisan Superior Court 1 and 2 judge positions, the county sheriff’s position, and the nonpartisan Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 commissioner post.
Clallam’s filing period runs until 4:30 p.m. Friday at the elections center in the county courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
In Jefferson County, filing continues until Friday for two county commissioner positions, a Superior Court judge position and a public utility district commissioner post on this fall’s ballots. In addition, voters will also elect precinct committee officers.
Candidate filings take place in the County Auditor’s Office in the courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Filings for legislative office — both state House and the state Senate position for the 24th District are up for grabs — must be done in the Secretary of State’s Office in Olympia.
