OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Investigators believe a fire that destroyed the main building of the Elwha Resort could be arson.
But Olympic National Park Chief Ranger Curt Sauer did not release details of the blaze.
The suspicious fire was reported by a passing motorists at about 1 a.m. Friday. By the time firefighters arrived, the main building was engulfed in flames, Sauer said.
That building and a nearby shed were destroyed, he said. Another outbuilding and several trees were damaged.
No one was injured in the blaze at the resort, located on U.S. Highway 101 at the Elwha River bridge.
