OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — A memorial service is planned Wednesday at the Lake Crescent spot where a Forks-area couple vanished into Lake Crescent 73 years earlier.
The 1 p.m. memorial at Ambulance Point is scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of Russell and Blanch Warren’s disappearance in 1929.
What are believed to be the remains of the Warrens’ recently discovered 1927 Chevrolet will stay 170 feet beneath the surface of Lake Crescent at the request of family members.
The site off Ambulance Point remains closed to recreational divers while Olympic National Park officials process evidence.
