OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — With rain falling Monday afternoon and more precipitation forecast for the next few days park officials are hopeful for an end to the Griff Peak fire.
A helicopter was able to fly over the fire Monday morning for the first time since Friday and determined the blaze is 795 acres, but is still confined to predetermined boundaries.
“It did grow some this morning (Monday) during winds before the rain arrived,” said park spokeswoman Barb Maynes on Monday evening. “But it is raining at Hurricane Ridge.”
