OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Short-term repairs to Quinault Valley’s Graves Creek Road began Monday, and park officials said the road and campground will be open for limited use Aug. 16.
“These repairs are intended to provide a temporary solution to the Graves Creek Road washout,” said Olympic National Park Superintendent David Morris.
“We are pleased to provide access to the trailhead and campground, while we continue planning for the long-term solution.”
The six-mile road in southwest Jefferson County has been closed to traffic since the fall of 1999, when the Quinault River’s east fork washed out a section of the road.
