PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Peninsula Senior Games conclude amid a whirlwind of activity at several Port Angeles venues today.
The eighth annual games drew more than 500 athletes age 50 and older to compete in 16 events over three days, event director D Bellamente said.
All the events are open to the public. There is no charge to be a spectator and cheer the competitors.
Highlights of today’s action include track and field events at Port Angeles High School, slow-pitch softball at Shane Park and Elks Playfield, tennis at Erickson Park and bowling at Laurel Lanes.
The third-day lineup also features pinochle, indoor rowing and a bag toss competition at the Port Angeles Senior Center and pickleball at Roosevelt Middle School.
The Senior Center at 328 E. Seventh St. is the Senior Games’ headquarters.
It hosted opening ceremonies Friday evening and several other events.

Since the games began Friday, seasoned athletes have competed in basketball, bowling, bridge, a cornhole toss, cribbage, cycling, golf, horseshoes, indoor rowing, jump rope, pickleball, pinochle, softball, swimming, tennis and track and field.
