Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau board welcomes new members

PORT ANGELES — Linda Barnfather and Duncan Allinson have joined the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau’s board of directors.

Barnfather lives in Sequim and works as a legislative assistant for state Rep. Kevin Van De Wege, D-Sequim, who represents the 24th District.

Barnfather also is a member of the Clallam County Economic Development Council and an amateur photographer.

Allinson, general manager for the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort and Hurricane Ridge for Aramark Properties, moved to the North Olympic Peninsula from Jackson Hole, Wyo., where he worked in the resort/hospitality industry.

Both new board members enjoy the region’s outdoor recreational opportunities and are eager to help promote the area to visitors, said Diane Schostak, executive director of the Port Angeles-based visitor bureau, which promotes tourism in the unincorporated areas of Clallam County.

Two other positions are open, Schostak said.

The three-year terms are for a representative of the bed-and-breakfast industry and a nonlodging position.

The board meets monthly in Port Angeles.

“I am happy to talk with anyone interested in serving,” said Schostak, who can be reached at 360-452-8552.
