PORT ANGELES —Sixty-two miles in two months.
That’s the goal of an Olympic Peninsula YMCA wellness challenge to walk a mile a day this summer.
The Walk This Way challenge begins July 1 and runs through August.
The cost is $20 for Y members and $30 for nonmembers.
Each participant who completes the challenge will receive a T-shirt and be entered in a drawing to receive a massage session courtesy of Kirsty Massingham or spa day at SkinCare Suites courtesy of Kelly Webber Johnson of Windermere Real Estate in Port Angeles.
Competitors will track their own progress in a log provided by the YMCA.
The Y will update each participant’s miles on bulletin boards at its Port Angeles location at 302 S. Francis St.
Participants can tally their miles however they want: walk a mile a day or bust out a week’s distance in a day.
Competitors can walk on treadmills, school tracks, neighborhoods, the Olympic Discovery Trail — wherever they like.
To register, drop by the Y or visit www.clallamcountyymca.org.
