OMC to host grand opening of medical office building Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center will host a grand opening for its Port Angeles Medical Office Building on Saturday.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the new facility at 907 E. Georgiana St. just south of the hospital.

The event will include tours of the new building and free health lectures featuring OMC providers. Information and free health screenings will be available at booths throughout the new facility.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to show off the new building to our community,” OMC spokeswoman Bobby Beeman said.

OMC constructed the 42,000-square-foot medical office building at a cost of about $18 million.

The building includes a walk-in clinic, specialty care and primary care.

As part of the festivities, children are invited to bring a favorite stuffed animal to the Teddy Bear Clinic. Pediatrics staff will assist children in giving stuffed animals medical checkups.

A series of free health lectures will be held in Linkletter Hall on the lower level of OMC, 939 E. Caroline St.

Here is the schedule for the presentations:

• 10:30 a.m. — “Your Meds, Your Safety.”

• 11 a.m. — “Prostate Enlargement: What are My Options?”

• 11:30 a.m. — “Blood Pressure: More than Just Numbers.”

• Noon — “Colon Cancer Screening: Why, Why Not?”

• 12:30 p.m. — “Preventing and Identifying Strokes.”
