JOYCE — A Joyce man was in stable condition at Olympic Medical Center after his roommate allegedly stabbed him multiple times and was subsequently arrested, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said today.
Shannon Lance Birkland, 59, was booked into the county jail Tuesday night for investigation of first-degree assault-domestic violence after he allegedly attacked his roommate, 62-year-old Alfred Keys.
Keys was taken to Olympic Medical Center, where he was in stable condition as of Wednesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Birkland remained in the Clallam County jail Wednesday on $10,000 bail, according to Superior Court records.
Sheriff’s deputies and Lower Elwha Klallam tribal police came to the home the men shared along state Highway 112 west of Joyce, near Cannon Ball Road at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 9-1-1 call of a fight in which one man had been stabbed, the Sheriff’s Office said.
When law enforcement arrived, officers found Keys bleeding from several knife wounds to the face and torso, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
