PORT ANGELES — Veterans, their spouses and surviving spouses of vets can learn more about veterans benefits at an open house on Sept. 20.
The celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Port Angeles Veterans Assistance Service Center, 216 S. Francis St.
Sponsors are the service center and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1024.
Speakers will present updated information for all vets and their families.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and soft drinks will be provided.

In another upcoming veterans event, the Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway will be dedicated on Sept. 6.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the junction of state highways 112 and 113, 38 miles east of the U.S. Highway 101 junction with Highway 112.
The highway was designated a memorial by a state Senate bill sponsored by Sen. Jim Hargrove, D-Hoquiam.
People who attend will be invited to a barbecue and pot luck luncheon at the home of John Singhose, 57584 Highway 112.
Participants are asked to bring chairs.
