PORT ANGELES — Clallam County is seeking applicants for its new Building Code Board of Appeals and nine other boards, committees, councils and commissions.
Interested county residents can apply at the commissioners’ office on the main floor of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Applications are available at www.clallam.net. The deadline is July 22.
The Building Code Board of Appeals will hear appeals on determinations made by the Clallam County Building Official.
Prospective board members should be qualified by experience and training on building construction.
County commissioners will appoint members to the five-member Building Code Board of Appeals. They will report to the three commissioners.
The building code appeals board will replace the Clallam County Hearing Examiner in the appeals process.
It will consist of a licensed general contractor with at least 10 years of experience, a licensed civil or structural engineer with at least 10 years of experience, a licensed architect with at least 10 years of experience, a certified building official, building inspector or plans examiner with at least five years of experience and a certified fire marshal, fire inspector or fire plan examiner with at least five years of experience.
Two qualified alternates will also be appointed to the Building Code Board of Appeals.
