PORT ANGELES — An Operation Shoebox drop-off center at Bethany Pentecostal Church, 508 S. Francis St., is accepting packed shoeboxes for girls and boys ages 2-14 through Monday.
The church is taking donations for Operation Christmas Child from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Shoeboxes will be shipped internationally through Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian organization.
Donations are to be packed in empty cardboard or plastic shoeboxes, which can be wrapped, and accompanied by a $7 donation per box to cover shipping.
The boxes should be filled with gifts for either a boy or a girl in a specific age group, and the boxes should be tagged with the appropriate labels.
Age group are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14.
Suggested gifts include age-appropriate toys, school supplies, T-shirts, hats, non-liquid hygiene items, a personal note or a photo of oneself.
The boxes can not include food of any sort, balloons, fragile items, toy guns or knives or aerosol cans.
