SEQUIM — A 22-year-old Oregon woman was arrested in Sequim last week for an alleged burglary at a Spruce Street residence.

Miriah Jean Boyer of Wolf Creek, Ore., was booked into the Clallam County jail Wednesday for investigation of first-degree burglary, third-degree theft, carrying a concealed pistol without a license, possession of burglary tools, making false statements to law enforcement officers, unlawful possession of firearms and being a fugitive from justice in another state.

She is being held on $45,000 bail.

Sequim police said Boyer allegedly broke into a shed on the 100 block of Spruce Street early Wednesday morning and took a set of gardening gloves, a battery for a remote-controlled car and a multipurpose tool.

Officer Anthony Graham wrote in the arrest narrative that Boyer was armed with a loaded 9 mm, semi-automatic pistol.

Boyer, who was located and arrested near the corner of Fourth Avenue and Spruce Street, was carrying several flashlights, a mini pry bar and a screwdriver that she allegedly used to remove the hinges from the shed, police said.

Police said Boyer cut her right hand while gaining access to the shed. Fresh blood was found on the floor of the shed and on a cut to Boyer’s right hand, court papers said.

A needle and an empty baggie were discovered in Boyer’s purse.

Boyer told police she had injected a substance she believed to be methamphetamine prior to her arrest.

“Boyer stated that she committed the burglary with the intent to locate items of value to obtain more methamphetamine,” Graham wrote in the certification for probable cause.

Police said Boyer used a different name to identify herself until the end of her interview.

Boyer was charged in Clallam County Superior Court on Thursday with being a fugitive from justice in another state.

Local charges are expected to be filed Monday.

A circuit court judge in Josephine County, Ore., issued a $20,000 bench warrant for Boyer’s arrest Jan. 28.

The underlying Oregon charges were third-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and possession of heroin, court papers said.

Boyer was ordered to appear in Clallam County Superior Court for a review hearing March 6.
