Swap meet
SEQUIM – The Park Place Market is going to the dogs, and cats, today and Saturday.
The swap meet – from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 290 W. Washington St., Sequim – will feature adoptable cats and dogs from the Clallam County Humane Society as well as pet paraphernalia, said Hope Stime, market owner.
The humane society will offer potential pets from noon to 3 p.m. both days.
Stime wants to raise money to support local animal rescue groups, so she’s asking vendors to contribute a portion of their proceeds to the humane society and the Welfare for Animals Guild, or WAG.
Dare to Dream Entertainment will perform from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Last Friday and Saturday, Stime held a fundraiser for the family of Jesse Marunde, the Sequim strongman who died suddenly on July 25.
Stime plans to shut down the Park Place Market forever at the end of this month.
As her last hurrah, however, Stime wants to have one more fundraising meet.
