Outage affects 707 Clallam Public Utility District clients

PORT ANGELES — A 4½-hour power outage just west of Port Angeles affected about 700 Clallam County Public Utility District customers Thursday evening, a PUD spokesman said Saturday.

The outage was reported at about 6:30 p.m. in the area of Bean Road just west of the Port Angeles city limit, PUD spokesman Michael Howe said.

Utility crews responded and discovered the problem was in a stretch of power line that had failed, Howe said.

“There was basically a bad line,” he said. “We needed to replace 12 feet of line.”

Power was restored to the 707 affected customers by 9:55 that night, Howe added.
