PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County fire marshal has announced restrictions on outdoor fires, except for recreational cooking fires, effective Monday.
These restrictions apply throughout unincorporated Clallam County except for Olympic National Park, Olympic National Forest and state Department of Natural Resources trust lands, which all have their own regulations.
The county’s restrictions will remain in effect through Oct. 1 unless rescinded.
Recreational fires are limited to 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height.
Fires for debris disposal are not legal under any circumstances and are not considered recreational.
If conditions worsen to a high fire danger, all outdoor burning, including recreational fires, will be prohibited.
For more information, call the fire marshal at 360-417-2308, email george.bailey@clallamcountywa.gov or contact your local fire protection district.
