Overnight paving projects set for Marine Drive

PORT ANGELES — The state Department of Transportation will pave portions of Marine Drive on Thursday and Friday nights at two separate work sites.

Eastbound Marine Drive will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Drivers can expect single-lane alternating traffic on Marine Drive and Front Street between Oak and Valley streets during the closures.

The second work zone, on Marine Drive near the intersection with state Highway 117 (Tumwater Truck Route), will have alternating single-lane traffic with no access to the truck route from 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday to 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Signed detour routes will be posted for both work zones.

The work is related to an upcoming fish barrier removal project at Tumwater Creek. More information is available at https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/us-101- clallam-county-remove-fish-barriers.
