Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

 Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the state Department of Ecology regarding a project to enhance Olympia oyster populations in Sequim Bay in their work session Monday and business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Monday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include:

• The commissioners will meet in executive session with the county parks department to discuss a potential campground and day use area for the West End.

• A resolution to declare two Suzuki boat motors as surplus so they can be used for trade-in towards new Yamaha engines for the sheriff’s office.

• A request for proposals for Homelessness Program funding.

• A resolution authorizing a new county road project to install regulatory, warning, school, guide, recreation and road name signs along county roads.

• A resolution regarding seven applications to the county’s Open Space Tax Program.

• An agreement with the North Olympic Land Trust for a conservation easement on the Dungeness Hub Farm Project.

• A discussion regarding the best department within the county to manage code enforcement officers.

• A letter requesting that the state Department of Transportation schedule and attend quarterly work sessions with the county for the next several years.

• A request for additional $8,499 in funding, for a total of $63,499, for Cascadia Consulting Group to complete the county’s greenhouse gas inventory and analysis.

• A resolution delineating commissioner involvement with various state and local advisory boards and commissions.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a workshop regarding the allocation of remaining American Rescue Plan Act funds when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

Items on the consent agenda include an amended agreement with N&N Construction for an additional $3,028 for siding repair and paint on the Brinnon Community Center, an amended agreement with the Washington Health Care Authority for up to $220,000 for substance abuse prevention, two memoranda of understanding with Juvenile services for $20,000 for a truancy reform project and $44,496 for a therapeutic support for independent living project and memoranda of agreement with 11 corrections officers each for $15,000 retention bonuses.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

 Port of Port Angeles
