Haille Alley was fighting for her life a year ago after a heart transplant.
In steep contrast today, the little girl bounces from room to room, a curly haired ball of energy, like any other active toddler approaching her third birthday May 17.
Haille and her closest family members on Sunday quietly celebrated a year after the child received a new heart and new lease on life.
“We made it a year,” said Haille’s grandmother, Kathleen Anding. “It’s like another birthday.”
A giggling and playful Haille now keeps her grateful mother, Crystal Alley, more than busy. Haille is also the daughter of Anthony Jackson.
“It’s been wonderful,” Crystal Alley said. “It gives you a whole new perspective on things, things you just take for granted.”
