PORT ANGELES — Police closed roads and alleyways around a West Fifth Street residence Thursday afternoon after reports were received that a 43-year-old Port Angeles man was armed and had threatened family members.
But the police buildup ended without incident three hours later when police took the man into custody, Port Angeles Police Chief Tom Riepe said.
The man, identified as Kelly Craig, was not immediately arrested.
When police apprehended Craig, he was in an upstairs bedroom asleep.
Riepe said Craig was despondent, had been drinking and was possibly armed with a shotgun.
