SEQUIM — The city of Sequim’s Music in the Park program will wind up its series of summer concerts with a singing contest, “Karaoke Idol,” at the James Center for the Performing Arts amphitheater from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.
This contest is for amateur singers ages 13 and older. No professional singers are allowed.
Registration begins at 5:15 that evening at the James Center, located in the Sequim Water Reuse Park, 563 N. Rhodefer Road, just north of Carrie Blake Park.
Twenty contestants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Contestants should be prepared to sing three songs from the karaoke library.
Prizes will be awarded for first through third places.
KSQM radio’s “Pepper and Sue” will serve as hosts. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic items to the event.
An audience sing-along will be held while judges deliberate.
