Sarah Winfield recently received a Patriot Award from the Department of Defense’s Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Winfield, the manager of surgical services at Olympic Medical Center, was nominated by former employee Petty Officer First Class Solomon Jeancharles for her support while he was deployed aboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I cannot be any more grateful for her support, her understanding, and the respect shown by the whole staff for my service to this country,” said Jeancharles in his nomination letter.
