LAKE CRESCENT — Paving is expected to begin Monday on U.S. Highway 101 around Lake Crescent.
The paving of the final 2½-inch layer of asphalt and striping will continue for six to eight weeks depending on weather, park officials said.
Drivers on Highway 101 on the 12 miles begin rehabilitated will experience half-hour delays Mondays through Fridays during work hours.
Four-hour delays from Mondays through Thursdays — which will be used to finish the final phase of the $27.5 million, three-year project — will resume Sept. 3.
The Lake Crescent project is being managed by the Federal Highway Administration and the National Park Service. Strider Construction Inc. of Bellingham is the contractor.
Weekday half-hour delays are restricted to two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset.
