PORT ANGELES – Dave Jacobsen, Peninsula Daily News circulation director, has received the 2007 President’s Award from the Northwest International Circulation Executives.
An 18-year member of the group and its two-term president and board chairman for 2005 and 2006, Jacobsen was recognized for his work in the creation and launch of the association’s Web site and his leadership in guiding the group “through a difficult period created by the departure of several board members due to industry transitions.”
He was selected for the award by a committee of the association’s past presidents.
The association is comprised of newspaper circulation executives in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, Montana and western Canada.
The award was presented to Jacobsen at the PDN by Dale Irvine, the association’s secretary-treasurer, after Jacobsen had been unable to attend the group’s May 2-5 conference due to the wedding of his stepdaughter and installation of new circulation management software at the newspaper.
