Two more North Olympic Peninsula school districts will allow school employees to attend a Jan. 14 rally in Olympia.
The Cape Flattery and Chimacum school districts announced Wednesday that they would allow teachers and other educators to participate in the “Day of Action”‘ rally to call on state lawmakers to keep public education funding intact.
Cape Flattery officials said they would not close either Neah Bay or Clallam Bay campuses for the rally.
Instead, the district will send a combined team of administrators, educators, classified staff and School Board members to Olympia, officials there said.
School canceled
The Chimacum School Board on Wednesday agreed to close school Jan. 14 to allow educators to travel to Olympia.
That district will make up the day by having students attend classes May 2, a designated “snow day.”
The School Board voted unanimously to support the action proposed by board member Quinetin Goodrich.
