PORT ANGELES — “Art in the 21st Century,” a series of PBS documentaries, will screen Mondays in April at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Admission is free.
The second episode, “Boundaries,” will be shown at 7 p.m. today, with a discussion planned to be held afterwards.
The program highlights artists who tackle taboo subjects, including David Altmejd, Lynda Benglis and Tabaimo.
“Art in the 21st Century” then continues April 16, with episode 3, “History,” which features artists exploring commonly held assumptions about historic “truth.”
Finally, on April 23, the fourth episode, “Balance,” looks at artists — Rackstraw Downes, Robert Mangold, Sarah Sze — grappling with equilibrium as they create works that challenge notions of perception.
