It’s a girl!
The North Olympic Peninsula’s first baby of 2004 is Grace Katherine Allen Webb.
Grace was born at 11:29 a.m. New Year’s Day at Jefferson General Hospital in Port Townsend to parents Emily K. Allen and Paul C. Webb.
Grace weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and measured 20½-inches long.
The Peninsula’s second baby of 2004 — a healthy baby boy — was born at 1:16 p.m. at Olympic Medical Center.
Eight-pound, 12-ounce Brian James Emmons Jr. snuggled in his mother’s arms Thursday afternoon.
Grace’s mother was cheered by the birth. When asked if she expected to have the North Olympic Peninsula’s first baby of the new year, Allen laughed.
“I was hoping for yesterday for the nice tax deduction,” she said.
Allen, 20, said she is happy the baby is healthy and glad to have completed the birthing process.
