North Olympic Peninsula health officials are carefully monitoring influenza cases, watching for cases of the mysterious and fatal flu-like disease called SARS.
No cases of SARS — severe acute respiratory syndrome — have been reported, or suspected, on the North Olympic Peninsula.
There is, however, one confirmed case of the disease in Washington state, two more cases in British Columbia and the Times Colonist reports one person in Victoria is being observed for SARS-like symptoms.
