PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Housing Authority will host a dedication celebration for eight new homes at its Peninsula Village development at noon Saturday.
The celebration will be at the homes on Village Circle off Lindberg Road, just south of Peninsula Golf Course in Port Angeles.
This is the seventh group of homes built by families under the Mutual Self-Help Program and the third group at the Peninsula Village location.
Instead of a down payment, families put in 32 hours or more a week working on their home and their neighbors’ homes until all homes are completed.
Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County also work on the homes.
Peninsula Housing Authority has sponsored a total of 62 homes through the Mutual Self-Help Program.
The next group of homes will be built at Pendley Estates between 14th and 16th streets on the west side of Port Angeles.
Peninsula Housing Authority is seeking people interested in becoming homeowners through the Mutual Self-Help Program.
The authority provides prepurchase counseling and education, credit repair and access to down-payment assistance.
