Sunset magazine has named Lake Quinault as one of the best vacation lakes in the West.

The August issue of Sunset highlights lakes that are “perfect for summer vacationing — lakes with great scenery, great lodging and camping options and lots of things to do.”‘

Lake Quinault, located in southwest Jefferson County, is described as being home to gargantuan timber that “feasts on the area’s abundant moisture.”

Other Northwest lakes making the list include Lake Chelan and Ross Lake in Washington, Lake Pend Oreille and Priest Lake in Idaho and Wallowa Lake in Oregon.
