Ring, ring go the cash registers on the weekend before Christmas.
But some calm shoppers say it’s not really crunch time until Christmas Eve.
“This is last minute?” asked Adam Wickman, who was shopping for his girlfriend Saturday in downtown Port Angeles.
He was just one of several people swarming gift shops and checking off items on their Christmas lists this weekend.
Tracie Hedin, owner of Alley Cat Boutique on First Street in Port Angeles, said she sees a lot of boyfriends and husbands still searching for the perfect gift.
“They come screaming in here,” she said. “They’re not sure what to get; they’re unsure of the size.”
Most bought sweaters, jewelry and gift certificates on Saturday, she said.
