A report released Tuesday by the state Employment Security Department shows that May jobless rates on the North Olympic Peninsula hovered near April levels.
In Clallam County, the rate dropped from 7.4 percent in April to 6.8 percent in May, the department said.
Jefferson County’s May unemployment rate staying at the April level of 6.3 percent, state figures show.
Statewide, the unemployment rate decreased from 7.2 percent in April to 7.1 percent last month.
May 2001 unemployment rates were 5.3 percent in Jefferson County and 7.3 percent in Clallam County.
