The Olympic Complex fires were declared 100 percent contained Sunday afternoon, according to spokesman Bob Winslow.
Fire management responsibilities were to be returned to the Department of Natural Resources this morning. Two 10-person crews and supervisory personnel will mop up the interiors of the fires, he said.
“So, basically, everyone will be demobilized and we will be breaking down the camp,”‘ Winslow said.
The five fires that made up the Olympic Complex fires burned 476 acres and cost $950,000 to fight. A total of 354 personnel were assigned to the blazes. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, Winslow said.
