Hatchery coho and pink salmon may both be found swimming in waters from Low Point, west of the Elwha River mouth, to Port Townsend.
Defined as Marine Area 6, the eastern Strait is regulated as a selective fishery.
All native coho — identified by their intact adipose fins — must be released along with all chinook and chum.
The daily limit is two salmon and no fishing is currently allowed in either the closure zone around the mouth of the Elwha or in Dungeness Bay.
