PENINSULA DAILY NEWS
With many North Olympic Peninsula students scheduled to return to class today, some district officials are considering whether to extend winter break by one day.
Superintendent Gary Cohn said the Port Angeles School District would not close, but a two-hour late start is in effect today. This means students will start classes two hours later than normal, he said.
Cohn said there will be no morning kindergarten and no preschool classes today.
Most parents and students may not learn until after 5:30 a.m. today if their schools are opened or closed. But there are several sources for learning about closures, depending on the school district.
In Port Angeles and Sequim, school closure information is broadcast and posted after 5:30 a.m. on the Web sites of KONP-AM radio 1450 or www.konp.com; Wave Broadband’s Channel 3 cable television station, Peninsula News Network, or www.pnn.com; or KOMO-AM radio 1000.
Information also will be broadcast on:

* FM radio: KIRO 100.7, KKBY 104.9, KLSY 92.5, KMPS 94.1 or KPLU 88.5.
